Authorities reported they were alerted by a individual who noticed a car in Hanau smeared with red-colored fluid

Approximately 50 vehicles have been marked with what appears to be human blood in the Germany's town of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, as reported by authorities.

Cars, exterior walls and mailboxes were marked, sometimes with prohibited symbols, they reported in a statement.

Law enforcement state they were alerted during the night on Wednesday night, when a individual discovered that a vehicle in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been marked with a reddish-hued fluid.

The liquid had been drawn in the form of a banned symbol, they reported.

Officers then found multiple other smeared cars and building exteriors in the adjacent neighborhood.

Nazi symbols are illegal in Germany under laws outlawing the public exhibition of Nazi-era symbols.

Police report early analysis show the fluid was most likely human bodily fluid.

"At present there remains no clue as to its origin; investigators are currently not informed of any physical harm in relation with the incident," they stated.

City officials stated they were attempting "to unravel the incident" and have requested to the community for information.

A high-ranking political figure stated the vandalism made him speechless and needed to be solved promptly.

"This incident affects the center of Hanau and revives the wounds of the far-right attack five years ago," he stated on online, mentioning the murder of nine people by a gunman focusing on people of migrant background in 2020.
